Progress reports on the forthcoming music release from Sir John Reid Hatchporch!
I am currently
in the process of planning out a full length album release. This
is the spot where I will blab all about it, bore you to death with
minute
details and generally keep my thoughts organized about what I'm going
to
do and how I'm going about doing it. Most of all, it will help me
kick my own arse. Kudos to those of you who find this even
remotely
interesting.

GENRE: New Romantic, Synthpop, New Wave. INSTRUMENTATION: Three generations of vintage Casio keyboards (the most *recent* one is from about 1988), programmed MIDI drumbeats or sampled drumbeats, occasional electric or acoustic guitars. Only drumbeats are programmed. Everything else is played live by me. INFLUENCES:
This list could be endless, but these are the influences I see cropping
up in my music the most these days, in rough order of inspiration:
Elvis
Costello, Brian Wilson, Thomas Dolby, Pulsars, The Cars, Future Bible
Heroes,
Joe Jackson, The Magnetic Fields, Pet Shop Boys, Human League, New
Musik,
Devo, Talking Heads, Vince Clarke, Frazier Chorus, Kraftwerk, Art Of
Noise,
Pete Shelley, Gary Numan, The Buggles, The Rentals, Wall Of Voodoo,
XTC,
Joy Division. |
